Why Should You Write Objective Statements In Your Resume?Objective or not objective resume writing is a popular practice. However, the question is whether you can get rid of objectivity with resume writing?Resume objective is a technique to hire some knowledge in your resume as a means to cover up the more subjective aspects in your application. This is an alternative to using objective statements. In resume objective statement, you are supposed to use all the real information in your application and then cover it up with an objective statement.It is very important to know that objective statement should be on the first paragraph of your resume. But you need to avoid the formula which says 'These points are based on your objective'. That means, it is all based on the subject. You should always state your objective or focus of your work in each section of your resume.There are many advantages and disadvantages of using objective in resume writing. We are going to discuss them below.o Resume objective statements can appear as ego defense. The writer's self-confidence can be sacrificed to meet the objective. The first objective of the writer is to present his or her achievements. The second objective is to show how the writer can serve people.o You may be able to give a possible objection against the use of objective statement. The writer may find it difficult to compete with the competition for the job. So, he/she tries to create an artificial idea by mixing and matching in the content of the resume. This may make you look unprofessional to the employer.o If the writer is already employed in a certain company, then it becomes difficult for him/her to leave out resume objective. The same argument can also be used if you are applying for an internship.o You need to know that not all of your applications must be using an objective statement. You need to decide the type of job that you want to have and which one can be done under the guidance of your objective statem ent. Therefore, it is your responsibility to determine the real objectives of the job or internship that you are applying for.
